  • When should I book a hearing test?

If you're noticing any of these indicators of potential hearing loss, it may be time to consider a hearing assessment:

    • Difficulty with adjusting your current hearing aids.
    • Noticing changes in your ability to hear.
    • Struggling to understand conversations.
    • Increasing the volume on your TV to hear dialogue more clearly.
    • Being over 60 years old without a recent hearing evaluation.

Should any of these situations resonate with you, we recommend scheduling a hearing assessment at Kootenay Hearing & Audiology - Castlegar, BC

  • Are there benefits to taking a hearing test?

Early detection: Undergoing a hearing test at our clinic can pinpoint hearing loss at its initial stages. This early detection facilitates prompt and effective management of the condition.

Customized solutions: Based on your unique hearing profile revealed by the test, our audiologists can suggest personalized hearing aid options or other appropriate treatments, ensuring a solution that's specifically tailored to your needs.

Enhanced communication: By identifying and addressing hearing loss with a hearing test, you can significantly improve your ability to communicate with others. This can lead to stronger personal connections and help reduce feelings of social isolation.

Improved overall well-being: Timely discovery and treatment of hearing issues can greatly enhance your quality of life, positively impacting your mental health and cognitive abilities.

Kerra Clarkston

Patient Care Coordinator

  • Bio

I was born and raised in Trail, BC. I have worked for almost twenty years at Kootenay Hearing Aid & Audiology Clinic, and I am very excited that we have amalgamated with the awesome team at Dynamic Hearing Solutions. One of the best parts of my job is seeing people get fit with their new hearing aids and watching their faces light up when they say they have heard their cat purr for the first time in years.

Bringing our clients back into the world of sounds is the most satisfying part of the job. When not at work I am usually at home with my chihuahua dog and two cats and enjoying working in my garden. I also love going to the arena to watch our hometown hockey team the Trail Smoke Eaters. Go Smokies!
